Three African Australian families, survivors of war, famine, refugee camps, and isolation in a foreign city, seize an opportunity to return to their agricultural roots when a regional Victorian town reaches out for large families to revitalise their aging community.  Inspired by numerous true stories, COMMON GROUND is a 6x1 hour family drama series full of heart and attitude, music, love, in a search for peace, freedom and a sense of belonging.  

Produced by Cathartic Pictures, the creative team for the development phase included Cathy Rodda, Ez Eldin Deng, Dorcas Maphakela, Geskeva Komba, Andinet Teshome Shiferaw and with Clea Frost as Story Developer.
